Artist in Residence - 2022
We are pleased to announce that the 2020 Delnor-Wiggins Artist in Residence is Linda Schloss.
The beach has always been my happy place! The soothing sound of the ocean, the feeling of the cool breezes, and the magnificent colors of the sunset are what I love. Growing up in California I was always someone’s beach buddy and even tried surfing!
I majored in Art in college and used those skills as an elementary school teacher where I have fond memories of many art projects. After moving to Florida with my husband, I retired and decided to check off “learn to paint,” an item on on my bucket list.
Watercolor was my first medium and I learned the technique of “glazing.” Paint is applied 7-8 times over each shape until the colors “pop.” Vivid colors have become part of my style along with expressive strokes. I try to create paintings that evoke beauty and serenity, bringing the feeling of relaxation and joy into each patrons home.
Beach scenes are my specialty, and I take my original art and reproduce it on notecards and giclee prints, which can be made in any size upon request. I have been painting for 10 years and enjoy it immensely. Acrylic and oil have been added as mediums I use.
I can be reached at my email address which is Lindasnotecards@gmail.com
