Protecting Sea Turtles at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park
Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is home to a rare natural shoreline, and its beaches provide critical nesting habitat for sea turtles. Unfortunately, increased human impact has taken a toll on these gentle sea giants, and many turtles are now struggling to survive.
During nesting season, our trained staff carefully monitors the park’s entire shoreline to locate and protect turtle nests. Working alongside experts across Florida and the nation, we do everything possible to ensure these nests are safeguarded and given the best chance to succeed.
Through our Adopt-A-Nest program, you can be part of this important work.
All funds raised through Adopt-A-Nest go directly to Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park and its dedicated staff. Donations help provide essential resources such as:
- Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) for beach monitoring
- Natural resource and habitat improvements
- Educational program materials for public awareness
Your support makes a real, local impact on the future of sea turtles and the preservation of this unique ecosystem.
We hope you’ll join us in our efforts to protect these incredible animals for generations to come.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
